This article describes how to configure the on-premise environment to support Apps in SharePoint 2019. Follow below steps to configure the environment:
\n1- Configure the domain names in DNS
\n2- Verify the newly created domain name
\n3- Configure the Subscription Settings and App Management service applications
\n4- Configure App URLs<\/p>\n

Configure the domain names in DNS:<\/span><\/h2>\n

1) In DNS Manager, right-click\u00a0Forward Lookup Zones<\/strong>, and then click\u00a0New Zone<\/strong>\u2026.<\/p>\n

2) In the New Zone Wizard, click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"2\"<\/a><\/p>\n

3) In the\u00a0Zone<\/strong>\u00a0Type page, choose a\u00a0Primary zone<\/strong>, select the checkbox \u201cStore the zone in Active Directory (available only if DNS server is a writable domain controller)\u201d and then click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4) In the\u00a0Active Directory Zone Replication Scope page<\/strong>, select \u201cTo all DNS servers running on domain controllers in this domain<\/strong>\u201d, and then click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5) In the\u00a0Zone Name<\/strong>\u00a0page, in the\u00a0Zone name<\/strong>\u00a0box type the name for your new app domain, and then click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

6) On the\u00a0Dynamic Update<\/strong>\u00a0page, select \u201cAllow only secure dynamic updates (recommended for Active Directory<\/strong>)\u201d, and then click\u00a0Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

7) On the\u00a0Completing the New Zone Wizard\u00a0<\/strong>page, verify the settings and then click\u00a0Finish<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

Now, the new zone has available in the \u201cForward Lookup Zones<\/strong>\u201d list. This is used as a domain name for your apps.<\/p>\n

Create a CNAME Alias record for the new domain name:<\/strong><\/h4>\n
1) In DNS Manager, under forwarding Lookup Zones, right-click the new app domain name, and then click\u00a0New Alias (CNAME)<\/strong>\u2026.<\/div>\n

2) In the New Resource Record dialog box, in the\u00a0Alias name (uses parent domain if left blank<\/strong>) box, type *. Then the\u00a0Fully qualified domain name (FQDN)<\/strong>\u00a0box automatically displays *. followed by the domain name that you created previously for apps. Then the\u00a0Fully qualified domain name (FQDN) for target host<\/strong>\u00a0box, click on browse<\/div>\n

3) Double click<\/strong>\u00a0on the\u00a0server name<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

4) Double click<\/strong>\u00a0on the\u00a0Forward Lookup Zones<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

\u00a05) Double click<\/strong>\u00a0the domain that hosts the SharePoint sites.<\/div>\n

6) Then,\u00a0select<\/strong>\u00a0the server that hosts the SharePoint sites. Then,\u00a0click ok<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

7) Then, click\u00a0ok<\/strong>.<\/div>\n

Verify the newly created domain name:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
To verify the newly created domain name, Open\u00a0command prompt<\/strong>, type\u00a0ping<\/strong>\u00a0like below example. If ping return corrects IP address then your domain name was configured successfully.<\/div>\n

Configure the Subscription Settings and App Management service applications:<\/strong><\/h4>\n
1) To create a App Management service application:<\/strong><\/div>\n

a) In Central Administration, under\u00a0Application Management<\/strong>, click\u00a0Manage service applications.<\/strong><\/p>\n

b) Click\u00a0New<\/strong>, and then click\u00a0App Management Service.<\/strong><\/div>\n

c) Type a name for the service application in the\u00a0Service Application Name<\/strong>\u00a0box. Under\u00a0Application Pool,<\/strong>\u00a0select\u00a0Create new application pool<\/strong>, type application pool name.<\/div>\n
Then, click\u00a0Ok<\/strong>.<\/div>\n
2) To create a SharePoint Foundation Subscription Settings Service<\/strong><\/div>\n
To create Subscription settings Service Application, run following PowerShell command.<\/div>\n

To configure App URLs, Open SharePoint 2019 central administration, click on Apps and then click on Configure App URLs.<\/p>\n
